The first time I took a photography class as a journalism student at the University of Florida, I was intimidated and nervous. Sticking a camera in strangers’ faces wasn’t my idea of fun. However, I am always up for a challenge, and I was determined not to let photojournalism ruin my 4.0 GPA. So, I pushed myself far outside my comfort zone.
And 17 years after I earned that A in photojournalism, here I am. An associate professor of journalism and communication who regularly teaches multimedia production. Over the years, I have honed my photography skills by chasing my four children. If you would like to cherish photos that capture your child’s giggling face or your athlete’s talented skills, please reach out. I would also love to capture your family portraits–portraits that you’ll look back upon in the coming years and feel your heart swell with love at how much everyone has grown.
Children and Families
I have extensive experience following around children with my camera, snapping away while they play, giggle, and smile. Let me capture your child’s unique personality with candid photography. And, of course, if you want to be in the photos too 😉 then we can make that happen with family portraits.
As a UW professor, I know that college students have special places on campus that they want to remember.
If you’re a member of a group, you know how strong social bonds can be. Let me capture you with your comrades.
Maybe you’re looking for a short and sweet 15 minute session to get the essential, classic pics and that’s it.
Local Nonprofit Organizations
Nonprofits dedicate their resources to helping others and making the world a better place. Captivating photography can help attract donors and generate interest. But, there’s not always enough money in the budget to capture fundraisers and events with photos. Let’s chat about volunteer photography work that I can provide or that my photography students can provide.
Athletes hone their skills with passion, patience, and practice. That dedication and talent should be remembered with professional photos.
If you are tired of blurry cell phone photos of your athlete at their events, then consider event coverage. I can attend to capture the important shots.
Portraits of your athlete all decked out in their uniform and gear will bring a smile to your face (and their face) for years to come.
For Financially Limited Clients
I believe that all families deserve beautiful photos. If you consider yourself a financially limited family and find it difficult or impossible to pay for professional photos, please contact me to discuss our options.
