I have studied visual design theory and taught visual communication and multimedia production at the university level. I am familar with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite. I am also a skilled photographer. I have maintained a website that I designed myself since about 2003, when I first learned how to code.
Below are examples of Canva designs that I have adapted. The first set of designs advertised the science journalism internship program that I created and directed at the University of Wyoming.
The screenshots below were developed from a social media campaign to recruit graduate student applicants to the University of Wyoming MA in Communication program that I directed from 2016 to 2021. I directed the content creation.
The designs below show a flyer and social media post to advertise a climate change expert who visited the University of Wyoming campus. My climate change research team, Cultivating Community Preparedness, and I sponsored the visit.
After my sabbatical in fall 2017 that focused on science communication, I presented my findings to the University of Wyoming.
